The Portales Rams hosted a district rival, Lovington, on February 25, 2020. The Rams took the lead early on, with the score at the end of one period at 19-9. Lovington tried to push back but the Rams held their lead and by halftime, the score was 36-28.
The 3rd period is where Portales began to struggle slightly, and Lovington defeated some of their early deficit, leaving the 4th period as a tough competition between both teams. It was one of the hardest fought games Portales has played this season, and they held their own. Unfortunately, Lovington won by a mere 2 points. The final score was 60-58. The Rams are now 10-17 this season.
