The City of Portales is working diligently on various issues throughout the city. The streets department is filling pot holes and chip sealing. The parks department has been mowing and maintaining the parks and city property. The sanitation department was behind schedule last week on trash pickups, but they are working hard to get back on schedule. Due to the employee shortage in these departments, they are getting behind on some tasks. Please be patient with these employees and departments as they are dealing with these shortages.
The Portales police department will be holding DWI checkpoints throughout the month of August.
