Carrie Smith was born March 19, 1997 in Portales, NM, to the home of Jim and Rhonda Smith. She was welcomed into her heavenly home in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 6, 2023. She left this world comfortably surrounded by loved ones in Longview, Texas.
Carrie served our country in the United States Army Reserves, including deployment to Afghanistan. She graduated from Henderson High School in Henderson, Tx in 2015, and Kilgore Community College’s cosmetology program.
Carrie had many friends from all over, most notably are her brother Justin Smith who was by her side every step of the way through thick and thin. They were constantly creating some type of shenanigans that kept everyone around them on their toes! Lane, her best friend since grade school. Tonya Mendoza, Anthony Howard, Linda Gray, and Paige Bumfield.
Carrie spent her first 12 years in Portales before moving to Henderson, TX. Her and Justin spent most summers at Turkey Creek or on the beach in Destin, FL. Carrie had a passionate love for all animals, enjoyed traveling, fishing, and reading. She was a born again Christian and was strong in her faith. Her family finds comfort in the fact that we be reunited in just a little while.
Carrie has been welcomed to her heavenly home by her grandmother Billie Joe, “granny-granny” Lillian, and many others. She is survived by her parents Jim and Missy Smith of Longview, TX. Scott and Rhonda Hoke of Crestview FL. Grandmother Doris Harrison of Portales, Nm. Siblings little and big Justin, John, Abi, Bryson Smith, and Gage Pepper. Numerous aunts uncles and cousins
