Graveside services for Carol Smith, 78, of Clovis, will be at 2:30 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2022, in the Portales Cemetery with Pastor Don Thomas officiating. All of her many friends will be honorary pallbearers.

Carol Diane (Lee) Smith was born August 4, 1943, in Amarillo, Texas to the home of Naomi Isabelle (Ewing) and Howard Ellis Lee, and died January 27, 2022, in Clovis.
On Aug. 12, 1959, in Farwell, TX, she was married to Jimmy W. Smith. He passed away on February 17, 2015. They made their home in Portales until 1961 when she and Jimmy moved to Merced, CA. When they left CA, they moved to several locales in NM, including Farmington, Tucumcari and Lovington before returning to Portales. In 1971, they moved to Clovis, and in 1972, they established Camper World, selling gas and cab-over campers. Eventually it grew to include a boat dealership in 1986, and the name was changed to Smith RV and Marine. They sold the business to their son and daughter-in-law in 2003. Carol loved camping and fishing and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her many animals over the years and her latest dog “Lucky”.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tommie Smith of Clovis; a daughter, Kristi Smith of Clovis; three grandchildren, Brock Smith, Breanna Smith and Jimsyn Garcia, and her sister, Jean Parker & husband Jimmie of Midland, TX.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy W. Smith and her parents Naomi & Howard Lee.
