Obituary
Funeral services for Calvin “Glen” Doyle, 93, of Portales will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church in Portales, NM with Pastor Wes McAfee and Pastor Brad Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Caleb Dodd, Troy Dodd, Billy Owen Jr, Paul Reeves, Drew Terrell and Seth Terrell serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Post # 31.

Calvin “Glen” Doyle was born at Hart Camp in Lamb County, Texas on March 15, 1929, to the home of Jeff and Nola (Shaw) Doyle and died early on the morning of October 29th at GoodLife Assistant Living in Portales, NM. Mr. Doyle attended 11th grade in Portales High School and also had his first job driving the school bus there. He graduated at Baughn HS near Bentonville, Arkansas in 1947. Calvin enlisted with the National Guard in March 1948. He then joined the Air Force in June 1948 and was trained as a Clerk Typist in Germany until 1951. Next, he was stationed in New York as Chief Clerk until 1954. Then in Colorado, Oklahoma, and Virginia through 1962 as Staff Sergeant with an Admin Supervisor role. Lastly, at Bolling AFB in Washington DC until 1970, when he was honorable discharged as a Master Sergeant. He received many decorations and medals.
While in Virginia he met his bride Sarah Ann Madison and was married on June 27, 1969, at Arlington (VA) Baptist Church. They resided in the Kanawha City section of Charleston, West Virginia. He also worked and retired with the State of WV Department of Employment as a Leasing Representative/FAM Admin Support in 1989. They attended Witcher Baptist Church in Belle, West Virginia where they enjoyed many years of fellowship and celebrated their 40th anniversary there. Calvin and Sarah loved to travel on road trips and visiting family and friends. In 2014, they returned to New Mexico to be close to family.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah and one sister, Minnie Jo Cornell of Lubbock, TX and one brother, Carl Doyle of San Antonio, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, Winifred West, Frances Terrell, Mary Dodd, Hazel Wilkerson, Glenna Nell (infant) and two brothers, Andy Doyle and Kenneth Doyle.
