INDIANAPOLIS – Senior sprinter Danee Bustos and junior middle distance runner Ivar Moinat have been officially selected to compete at the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships at the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kan. on March 8-9.
Bustos will be competing in her third NCAA National Championship meet and the second indoor championship in her four-year career while Moinat was selected to his first ever NCAA Championship event.
Bustos was one of 20 selected to the 200-meter event after setting the 19th fastest time in all of NCAA Division II with a 24.47, which was converted down from her ENMU record-breaking mark of 24.40 for second place at the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships in Lubbock, Texas on Feb. 17. Bustos was an All-LSC First Team selection for the second straight year after scoring 15.75 points for the Hounds in the LSC Championships.

Moinat is coming off a third place finish in the 800-meter final at the LSC Championships with a 1:51.01, just missing his record mark by 0.01 seconds.
Moinat currently holds four ENMU records as his 800-meter mark is currently 6.40 seconds better than former Olympic Bronze medalist and ENMU Hall of Famer Mike Boit. Moinat is also the program’s record-holder in the 600-meter with a time of 1:20.81 set during the 2018 season.
By scoring six points for the ENMU men’s team at the LSC Championships, Moinat was named to the All-LSC Third Team for the third time in his career.
With Bustos and Moinat being selected, it is the fourth consecutive year that the Hounds will send multiple athletes to the NCAA Indoor Championships and the sixth straight year that Eastern will be represented at the meet.
