Gateway Christian School in Roswell was the hosting team of a conference matchup against the Floyd Broncos on April 23, 2021 at 5 PM.
Both teams have had mixed results this season, but Floyd went in with a better record, this gave the Broncos early momentum in the game. The push was halted by Gateway Christian though, which ended the lead for the Broncos.
By the end of the first period, Floyd was down 9-6. Gateway Christian outscored the Broncos in the second also, taking an even greater lead. At halftime, the Broncos trailed 15-22.
Floyd got the ball to start the second half which allowed them to tack on a few points early on, lowering their deficit to just 4 points. A foul on the Broncos changed the momentum though, and Gateway Christian began to take over the game. At the end of the third, the Warriors had taken a 10-point lead over Elida.
To start the fourth period, Floyd was trailing 23-33. They could never stop the Warriors from scoring, which mounted to the deficit. Gateway Christian walked away with the win over Floyd. The final score was 49-31.
Floyd is now 4-3 this season. Their next and final game is Tuesday, April 27th at 5 PM in Floyd against Elida.
