Men’s Soccer  Cameron Brennan

Eastern New Mexico Director of Athletics, Dr. Paul Weir, has announced the appointment of Brandon Misuraca as the next Head Men’s Soccer Coach for Eastern New Mexico Men’s Soccer. Misuraca becomes the seventh program in program history, and takes over after the Eastern New Mexico Men’s Soccer program was reinstated in January 2022.

“We want to thank all of the coaches who applied for this position. It was by the far the deepest pool of qualified applicants we have had in any search since I arrived here” said Dr. Weir. “At the end of this process, Brandon became the perfect fit. This opportunity comes at an optimal juncture in his professional career, yet it equally serves ENMU with the ideal profile and plan for our men’s soccer program” said Weir. “We look forward to watching him grow and develop our student-athletes with an emphasis on our great state of New Mexico and building long-term success. He will be an exceptional addition to our local community and can’t wait to watch him get started”.

In 11 seasons prior to joining ENMU, Misuraca has coached over 50 All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American honorees, and over 130 Academic All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American honorees. Additionally, Misuraca has recruited or coached student-athletes across six continents, has been part of two conference championship winning coaching staffs, and has made an NAIA National Tournament appearance.

“I am very honored and grateful to Director of Athletics, Dr. Weir, and the entire search committee for entrusting me with the special project of bringing back NCAA men’s soccer to the ENMU campus and the state of New Mexico,” said Misuraca. “In speaking with the search committee, I could tell just how important this program will be for the community and for the talented in-state players who will no longer need to seek opportunities away from the Land of Enchantment. I look forward to reestablishing Greyhounds men’s soccer and propelling the program even further forward” said Misuraca.

Misuraca joins ENMU after a three seasons stint at Oklahoma Pan Handle State University. Misuraca was the Aggies first ever coach of the program, posting a winning record in their inaugural season in 2019 (9-6-2). During the 2020 campaign, played in the spring of 2021, OPSU finished 4-8-4. In his last season with the Aggies, Misuraca coached the team to a program record 10 wins, finishing with a 10-3-3 standing. Misuraca was responsible for all aspects of the program including: fundraising, academic monitoring, travel coordination, video analysis, and recruiting.

Prior to leading the Aggies program, Misuraca was the assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s programs at University of Houston-Victoria. With both programs, Misuraca coached over 25 All-Conference, All-Region, and national award winners. He helped the men’s program to their first appearance in the NAIA National Tournament in 2017. Misuraca also directed ID camps for the programs, which brought in over 300 prospective student-athletes.

Before joining Houston-Victoria, Misuraca coached at the University of the Cumberlands for three seasons. In his time with the Patriots, Misuraca guided day-to-day operations and coaching the reserve/development team. Misuraca also helped with the programs recruiting, travel coordination, community service projects, and opposition scouting.

Misuraca gained his first coaching experience as a volunteer assistant for the women’s soccer program at Missouri Baptist University. While in the coach’s dugout, Misuraca helped the team to four straight conference tournament appearances, along with producing 10 all-conference selections.

Misuraca has received coaching certifications from both Untied States Soccer Federation (USSF) and United Soccer Coaches. Misuraca has earned his National D License from the USSF and Goalkeeping Level I Diploma from United Soccer Coaches.

Misuraca earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management from Missouri Baptist University in 2014. Misurca went on to pursue a Masters of Art in Teaching in Early Elementary Education at University of the Cumberlands in 2016.
