Bobby Nelson Obituary
Bobby Ray Nelson, 84, of Causey, NM was born May 12, 1938 in Mangum, OK to the home of Victoria (Fisher) and E. C. “Cliff” Nelson, and died at his home on the morning of Feb 21, 2025. Mr. Nelson lied his early years in Mangum, OK. After he left school he began working on ranches. In 1960, he entered the U S Army and served in Germany. Following his discharge, he resumed his love of horses and the outdoors by working on various ranches throughout the western United States.
On Jan. 27, 1973 in Acuna, Mexico, he was married to Yolanda Mortinez. They had one daughter. Following his retirement, he and his wife moved to Causey, NM to make their home. Mr. Nelson loved horses. He also enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by Yolanda, his wife of more than 52 years; his daughter, Brenda Nelson of Dallas, TX; three grandchildren, Diana Nelson, Yolanda Andrade and Robert Nooks; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jerry Nelson of Mangum, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ted Nelson and two sisters, Velva Hatton and Joyce Smith.
