Eastern New Mexico is pleased to announce the return of BJ Bernet as the Head Spirit Squad coach for the 2020-21 athletic season. Additionally, Bernet has announced that there will be another round of online tryouts for the 2020-21 season to be submitted by Tuesday, June 30th.
Bernet served as the ENMU Head Spirit Squad coach from 2005-09 and will return as head of the program after serving as the Dance Studio Owner of Dance and Cheer Force in Clovis, N.M. In addition to her overseeing the operations at Dance and Cheer Force since 2005, Bernet also served as the Cheer Coach for Clovis Municipal Schools during that time frame as well.
She graduated from the University of Las Vegas during which time she competed on the cheer team and went on to cheer for two professional sports organizations following her collegiate career in the Las Vegas Sting of the Professional Arena Ball League and the Las Vegas Dust Devils, a professional soccer organization. Bernet also honed her craft in dance and cheer instruction in Italy at the Aviano Airbase, serving as a youth programs and dance instructor as well as a cheer coach from 2000-04.
Bernet has announced that she would like to invite an additional round of applicants to tryout for the 2020-21 Spirit Squad for Eastern New Mexico beginning immediately.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all tryouts will be submitted via a YouTube link to bjbernet@yahoo.com by June 30th. Late submissions will not be accepted and applicants are asked to review all expectations for the video submission and complete the application located HERE prior to submitting their video.
