The Eastern New Mexico baseball team finished out a three-game weekend series with a doubleheader at No. 17 UT Tyler on Saturday afternoon. The Greyhounds fell 6-1 in the first game and won the second, 10-9.

GAME ONE: UTT 6, ENMU 1

The first game in Saturday’s double header was a defensive battle to start out. UT Tyler took the slight 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third on a solo home run from Riley Jepson.

The Patriots extended that lead to 3-0 in the sixth after a solo homer from Lukas Planco and a sacrifice fly from Tommy Tolve.

Eastern responded in the top of the eighth inning with a run after talking advantage of several walks and an error.

UT Tyler added three insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth frame and then shut down the Hounds in the ninth to secure the 6-1 win.

Trevor Moses led the way offensively for ENMU as he went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double. Cole Luedeking and Matthew Kory also had hits for the Hounds.

Josh Lewis pitched the first five innings for Eastern. He was credited with the loss and finished with five strikeouts and one run allowed. Cooper Hamilton and Alex Khun also saw time on the mound.
