PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico baseball team heads to Cameron University this weekend for a three-game series. The Greyhounds and the Aggies will meet on Friday for a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m., followed by a single game on Saturday at 11 a.m.

SCOUTING THE AGGIES

Cameron University enters the weekend with a 1-2 overall record. Last weekend they won the first game of a three-game series against West Texas A&M but dropped the second two.

Leading Cameron offensively is Beau Williams with a .500 batting average, five hits, one home run and one RBI. Ryan Carter leads the way for the Aggies in RBI with seven to go with a .375 batting average, two doubles, and a home run.

On the mound, Tyler Garcia earned the lone win last weekend. He finished with two strikeouts and an ERA of 5.06 in 5.1 innings of work. Tyler Cornett and Marcos Feria lead the team in strikeouts with five each.

LAST TIME OUT 

Eastern New Mexico enters the weekend with an 0-5 record. The Greyhounds are looking to pick up their first win of the season after dropping two games at West Texas A&M on Feb. 11. The third game in that series was postponed due to inclement weather.

Daniel Hunt and Nicholas Tamez each had hits in both contests for the Hounds.

On the mound, Jason Vasil and Liam Sabiston each had a start and loss for Eastern.

HIT STREAKS FOR THE HOUNDS

Several Eastern student-athletes have hitting streaks started early in the season. Both Daniel Hunt and Nicholas Tamez have registered at least one hit in all five games so far.

Tamez also has two multi-hit contests this season.
