FROM THE SOURCE
“Our starting pitching has to step up and compete in the zone a lot more. Lead off walks, free bases, and not getting ahead in the count put the other team in good hitting counts, and they took advantage,” said Head Baseball Coach Riley Price. “On the flip side, their pitchers threw strikes and made us earn our way on today, and we did not battle with two strikes today and missed/took two many fastballs. Really hope this group responds tomorrow and we stop shooting ourselves in the foot,” said Price. We have the talent, but need a good start on the mound and momentum to get our offense clicking”.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This is the thirteenth time that both schools have met, with ENMU holding the all-time series lead 9-4.
- Hamilton recorded his second triple of the season, leading the team in that category.
- Schifftner and Dax Edmonds are riding hit streaks. Schifftner has recorded a hit in three successive games, while Edmonds has hit safely in his last four games.
- The Greyhounds return to the field tomorrow against Adams State, in the hope of splitting the series.
