Eastern New Mexico baseball head to Tyler, Texas this weekend to face the Patriots in a four-game conference series. The series has seen some alterations as Friday’s game and the doubleheader on Saturday due to forecasted weather. Game one will now start at 10 am (MST), instead of the original 6 pm (MST) start, on Friday, Mar. 11. Then, the Hounds play UTT in a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 12, at 12:05 pm (MST) and 3:05 pm (MST), originally set for 3 pm and 6 pm. Finally, the two teams conclude the series on Sunday, Mar. 13, with a 12 pm start.

LAST TIME OUT 

• The Greyhounds came away with three wins in its last four game series, besting UT Permian Basin over the past weekend. Eastern won game one in extra innings after a bases loaded single from Andres Quintana, 10-9 (12 Inn.).
• In game two, ENMU posted a season best 15 runs in a 15-12 win over UTPB. Camden Matthews finished four RBI’s, three hits, and two extra base hits (double and homerun).
• Eastern finished the weekend with a season high 15 hits as the Hounds controlled an 11-9 victory. Dax EdmondsSpencer Roach, and Nick Schifftner all finished with three hits.

SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS 

• Entering the weekend, the Patriots hold a 10-10 season mark with the same record in conference play. UTT earned a split with #2 West Texas A&M after winning game two and game four of the series.
• As a team, the Patriots hold a .288 batting average, bringing in 128 runs with 185 hits. In total, UTT have an ERA of 5.55, conceding 112 runs and allowing 163 hits.
• Carson Cox leads the UT Tyler squad in batting average at .371, while Lukas Polanco holds a team high 25 hits. Kyle McShaffry brings in a team high 19 RBI’s, and Riley Lambert gets has a on base percentage of .449, leading the team.
• On the hill, Dylan Blomquist has a record 3-1 with an ERA of 4.15. Lee Harrison holds an impressive ERA of 3.60 with a record of 2-0.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS 

• After this past weekend, the Hounds have improved to 5-11 on the season with a 4-10 record in LSC play.
• Cooper Hamilton is the offensive leader with a .340 batting average and .484 on base percentage. C. Matthews, leads the program with 18 hits, and is tied for the team lead in RBI’s with 11, Schifftner also has 11 RBI’s for the team.
• Five different Greyhounds have recorded a win this season for the ENMU pitching staff: William McBrideDalton ThatcherDamian AcostaJavier Luna, and Ruger Bravo. McBride has a team low ERA of 0.87 in 10.1 innings pitched. Acosta leads the team in strikeouts with 33, which is tied for third in the conference.
