Aurelio Flores July 16, 1958 ~ July 26, 2023 (age 65)

The Rosary for Aurelio Flores, 65, of Portales, will be recited at 9:00 AM, Fri., Aug. 4, 2023 at St. Helen Catholic Church.  The Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 AM with Fr. Francisco Carbajal officiating.  Aurelia Flores, Jr., Brayn Flores, Ariel Flores Aleman, Uriel Flores Alemon, Brian Flores, Adan Esparza and Gabriel Flores will serve as pallbearers.

Aurelio R. Flores was born July 16, 1958 in Saucillo, Mexico to the home of Guadelupe (Rede) and Severo Flores, and died at his home in Portales on the evening of July 26, 2023.  Mr. Flores came to the United States at the age of 16  For a number of years he worked as a service technician and welder at a meat packing plant in Colorado.  In 2008 he was injured at work, and had not been able to work since that time.  He moved his family to Portales in 2010.

Mr. Flores enjoyed being outdoors, seeing to his various animals and his yard.  He had a very special relationship with his grandchildren and loved finding creative ways to entertain them.

He is survived by his sons, Aurelio Flores, Jr. and his companion, Ashley Perez of Carlsbad, NM, Brayn Flores and his companion, Alexa Navarette of Roswell, NM, Ariel Flores-Aleman of Roswell, NM and Uriel Flores-Aleman of Lubbock, TX; his daughters, Angelica Flores of Carlsbad, NM, Anna Flores Michel and her husband, Juan of Carlsbad, NM, Monika Flores Aleman and her companion, Johnny Garcia of Clovis, NM and Irasma Martinez of Delicias, Mexico; 21 grandchildren; a brother, Severo Flores, Jr. of Gallup, NM; and his sisters, Anna Maria Fortnel of Portales, NM, Manuela Flores of Rosales, NM and Linda Flores of Gallup, NM.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents, a brother, Nicolas Flores Rede and by his wife, Elisa Aleman.
