Graveside services for Arturo Vega, 54, of Portales, NM will be held at 1:00 PM, Sat., Dec. 26, 2020 in the Floyd Cemetery with Deacon Robert Herrera officiating. Ricardo Aguirre, Erick Aguirre, Jesus Aguirre, Jesus Aguirre II, Erick Aguirre II and Ricardo Aguirre, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
Arturo Vega Corona was born Dec. 12, 1966 in Querendaro, Michoacan, Mexico to the home of Angela Corona and Luis Vega, and died Dec. 19, 2020 in Aurora, CO at the age of 54 years and 7 days. Mr. Vega came to the US in 1983 and worked in Los Angeles as a groom at the race track for a number of years. In 2000 he was married to Lorenza Cortez Lopez. In 2003 they moved to Portales to make their home. Mr. Vega worked on a number of local dairies including SAS Dairy. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, and enjoyed tending to his chickens and cows on his little plot of land near Floyd.
He is survived by his wife, Lorenza, of their home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jesus and Miriam Aguirre, Erick Adan and Nancy Aguirre and Ricardo and Virginia Aguirre all of Portales and Ceasar and Monica Aguirre of Los Angeles, CA; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; his father, Luis Vega of Mexico; and four brothers, Jose Luis Vega of San Diego, CA, Moises Vega of Hawaii, Ramon Vega of Las Vegas, NV and Angel Vega of Los Angeles, CA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Vega.
