Arnoldo Ontiveros Obituary
Arnoldo Layva Ontiveros was born April 11, 1965 in Morton, TX to the home of Soledad (Layva) and Able Tarango Ontiveros, and died Dec. 12, 2023 in Lubbock, TX. The family moved from Muleshoe, TX to Portales in 1980, Arnoldo graduated from Portales High School in 1983. While in high school he played football as an offensive lineman. After graduation, he began working in the construction trades. Much of his work was in masonry. Later he became a landscaper.
On May 22, 2016 in Clovis, he was married to Sharon Jean Stephens. Being a dog lover, Arnoldo and his wife had five Pit Bulls, Comotu, Cabrano, Chata, Chato and Borado. Arnoldo owned a1968 Cadillac that was his pride and joy. He also enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of their home in Clovis; eight brothers, Alonso Ontiveros of Muleshoe, Abel Ontiveros, Jr. and wife, Ruth of Goodland, KS, Alvaro Ontiveros of Portales, Albert Ontiveros of Portales, Armando Ontiveros of Portales, Artemio Ontiveros and wife, Hayley of Brownfield, TX, Arturo Ontiveros and wife, Veronica of Portales and Adam Ontiveros of Muleshoe, TX; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Vickie Sanchez and a brother, Alejandro Ontiveros.
