We owe our World War II veterans a special debt … a debt we can never fully repay. Over 500 people volunteered from Roosevelt County. On November 11, 2019, 10:30 AM at the Memorial Building in Portales, American Legion Post 31 will recognize the remaining six World War II veterans:

Carl Richardson, United States Coast Guard, August17, 1942 – Apr 26, 1945
Charles Roberson, United States Army Air Corps, March 11, 1945 – December 26, 1946
Jim Warnica, United States Navy, July 29, 1944 – June 3, 1946
Vern Witten, United States Army, June 10, 1943 – Jul 1, 1946
