Graveside services for Alan Wall, 69, a native of Portales, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tues., Oct 5, 2021 in the Portales Cemetery with Rev. Brad Morgan officiating. Mickey Morgan, Ted Glasscock, Gary Pierce, Donald Clark and Dickie Wall and his many other friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Alan Lee Wall was born Jan. 28, 1952 in Portales to the home of Daphne (Reed) and Andy Lee Wall and died Sept. 30, 2021 in Albuquerque, NM. Alan was a 1970 graduate of Portales High School where he was an outstanding drummer in the Portales Ram Band. Upon his graduation, he attended Eastern New Mexico University. For the next several years he worked in various jobs until he enlisted in the U. S. Army. During the twenty years he served his country, Alan was an X-Ray Technician. For a number of those years he was stationed in Germany, but his last duty station was at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. From Washington, he moved to NE where he lived until recently when he moved to Clovis to be near his father. Shortly after moving to Clovis, he became ill. Alan was an accomplished woodworker, making, among other things, crosses, chairs and swings. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his father, Andy Wall of Portales; his children, Stephen Wall of Corinth, TX, Angela Tracey of Arlington, TX and Amy Wall of Laurel, MD; a brother, Keith Wall of Houston, TX and a sister, Teri Wall of Portales. He was preceded in death by his mother, Daphne Wall in 2002.
