The Eastern New Mexico University rodeo team produced a strong showing at the Howard County College Rodeo on Saturday. The women’s team earned a second-place finish with 265 points, coming 15 points shy of winning the event. On the men’s side, ENMU closed in eighth with 100 points.

In the goat tying, Lindsey Adcock won the first go, short go and average with times of 8.9 and 9.2, respectively. Tawny Barry split second, third and fourth in the first go with a 9.1 finish. Celie Vick earned a spot in the short go with a time of 9.6, but did not place in the short go or the average.

In the barrel race, Vick split fifth and sixth in the first go with a 16.34 before turning in a time of 16.59 for fifth place in the short go and sixth in the average. Lany Elkins was fourth in the first got at 16.32.

Teryn Tate split fourth, fifth and sixth in the breakaway roping with a time of 2.9 seconds, but did not place in the short go or average.

Jacob Lewis won the first go in the saddle bronc riding with a score of 80 points and finished third in the average.

In the steer wrestling, Ringo Robinson had a 4.5 finish in the first go to earn a spot in the short go, but did not place in the short go or average.
