Eastern New Mexico University offers academic and financial support for you and your dependents if you are a veteran or a current member of the military and serving in the state of New Mexico or around the world. Whether you’re active duty, in the National Guard or reserves, or a veteran, ENMU has programs to meet your needs.

Here are some of the resources we have available:

  1. Student Veteran Organization (SVO)Dr. Bob Schneider, assistant professor of management in the College of Business and an Army veteran, facilitates the ENMU SVO. All college and university SVOs are part of the national Student Veterans of America organization. Being a member of the SVO helps you to meet other veterans and active duty personnel attending ENMU.   1. ENMU Veteran Assistance Line at 575.562.2195Have a question about where to go, what to do or who can help you? Call the veteran assistance line! This telephone number was established exclusively for veterans and active duty and is answered by a veteran. If they don’t have the answer, they will find it for you!

 

  1. Veterans Affairs Certifying Official (VCO)Veterans receiving educational benefits from the VA will appreciate visiting the VCO, located in the Office of the Registrar in Administration Building Room 105. For more information, call 575.562.2175.

 

  1. Active Duty/Tuition Assistance OfficeThe Office of Business Affairs handles all tuition assistance for active duty personnel, working closely with the military units for everything needed regarding tuition assistance. They are located in Administration Building Room 114. You can also call 575.562.2615

 

  1. Veteran’s LoungeThe Golden Success Student Center (GSSC), which opens in fall 2018, will include a Veteran’s Lounge.  Take time out to get away and relax, meet with others or have a cappuccino from the coffee bar while you study.

 

  1. The Veteran’s WallCome to the lower level of the Campus Union Building (CUB) to view the Veteran’s Wall. Brass nameplates on the wall depict veterans who have attended ENMU, along with an American flag flown in Iraq during a combat mission. This memorial will move to the GSSC once it opens. If you have been a student at ENMU, served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces and would like a nameplate on the wall, please contact tutoring in The Alley at the Campus Union Building at 575.562.2454.

 

  1. Veteran’s War MemorialPlease visit this special memorial dedicated to the ENMU students/alumni who served in the military from 1934-1975. It is located midway between the Campus Union Building and the Administration Building amid the beautiful trees on the ENMU grounds.
