Crime Victims’ Rights Week is an annual commemoration in the United States that promotes victims’ rights and services. The week is marked by an award ceremony held in Washington, D.C., in which individuals and organizations that demonstrate outstanding service in supporting victims and victim services are recognized. The exact date of the observance varies year to year, but it is always in the month of April.

“The Ninth Judicial District Attorney’s annual Color Run is being held to honor National Crime Victim’s Rights Week, which brings awareness to crime victims’ needs, services, and rights. This year all proceeds from the Color Run will go to benefit The Hartley House, a local domestic violence shelter. We are expecting a huge turnout, and we encourage everyone to come out, have some fun, and support a great cause”. Janemarie Vander Dussen, Director of the Victim Impact Program
