The Eastern New Mexico University women’s soccer team waited for just over 394 minutes. At the 14:44 mark of Monday night’s game against University of the Southwest, Courtney Pittman tallied the first goal of the season. From that point on, the Greyhound dominated, en-route to a record-setting 11-0 victory on Al Whitehead Field at Greyhound Stadium.

“Because of the drought, it was a little stressful at first, but after the first one our confidence shot up,” said Head Coach Omar Morales. “This is definitely good going into conference.”

The win improved ENMU to 4-3 in the series against the Mustangs, with a 3-1 record at home. Eastern had previously scored seven goals on two occasions against USW. The first came on September 7, 2007, and again exactly three years later.
