The Eastern New Mexico University rodeo team will kick off their season this weekend at the 2018 College Daze Rodeo at Lewis Cooper Arena. The event will be Sept 20-22, starting at 7 pm each night.
This year will be the 53rd rodeo for ENMU and will host 16 teams to compete. ENMU’s head coach, Albert Flinn says he’s encouraged by the quality he sees in his team, but that every other team is also gearing up for the event and should make for some good competition. Adding that it’s the first rodeo of the year, Flinn says he’s anxious to see his team in action this weekend and it will allow him to better gauge where they’re at.
If you’re a spectator hoping to attend the rodeo, you won’t be disappointed! With a beautiful facility, great concession stand, and action-packed performances, no one will leave disappointed. Flinn says that every event will be equally as exciting as the next. Events will include Bareback Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping, Goat Tying, Saddle Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping and Tie Down Roping.
For those who are unable to attend the festivities, both the rodeo and slack performances will all be available via Yucca Telecom’s livestream feature that they have set up at the arena grounds.
