SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY: Jay Watts

Jay passionately represents the unborn because he strongly believes in the inherent value of all human life. A former pro-choice atheist, Jay found his pro-life passion through his journey with Jesus. Since then, Jay has fought to concisely, intelligently, and lovingly articulate the message of life all across the country. He has turned his words into action and has dedicated his life’s work to sharing the Gospel by serving the cause of life.

Jay first found a home in the pro-life movement as a Development Coordinator at Cobb Pregnancy Services. For three years, Jay passionately and strategically built a base of donors deeply connected to the mission of Cobb Pregnancy Services. The life-affirming options this center provides mothers, and their unborn children are things Jay believes in deeply. He still sits on their board to this day.

After feeling the call to equip the Church in pro-life ministry, Jay left CPS in 2010 to serve for eight years with Life Training Institute (LTI). He served under Scott Klusendorf as the Vice-President of Development and Communications where he contributed as a speaker and writer. Jay’s writing and speaking continued to open doors and expand his impact. This grew into Jay founding his organization.

Jay is the Founder and President of Merely Human Ministries, INC. His organization is “committed to equipping Christians and people who hold pro-life views to graciously defend the intrinsic dignity of all human life in a positive, impacting and Gospel inspired manner.” We strongly recommend this website for tools equipping the pro-life movement.

He has spoken to high schools, universities, and professional organizations all across the United States. He has been an invited speaker at dozens of university groups including Harvard, UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State, and University of Illinois to name only a few. He has appeared on radio and television interviews, regularly featured as the keynote at banquets and national conferences, and published articles on a wide array of topics pertaining to bioethics and the university culture.

He lives in Marietta, GA, with his wife and three children.
